The Cycling Promotion Fund (CPF) was set up by some visionary businesses in the bicycle industry to enable the sector to play an active role in the promotion of cycling and to work with Governments to make Australia more bicycle-friendly.

Geelong High Performance Triathlon Program

Image Well another successful week just gone in the 07/08 Season of the GHPTP.  We had athletes racing at the Bussleton Ironman, at Race 2 of the Orbea Tri Series at Brighton, and the Renee Lane racing at the South Australian Sprint Distance Championships.

Belinda Harrison yesterday finished in 9th in the Elite Female Section in 9hrs and 42mins – a new Ironman Personal Best Time.  Belinda’s day was not as smooth as she had hoped with a 5mins penalty for drafting, which you have put her 2 places ahead in 7th.  Never the less she still finished well – in a very competitive field.  Well Done Belinda. Yesterday we had Leigh Stabryla race in the 20-24 Age Group and win this age group comfortably which was a great result for him.  Matt Bailey racing in his first race for the season finished in 2nd in the Male Junior Elite Section.  A very good result for him, up against the best junior in the county.  Young Jarrad Lindsay King racing in the 12-13 year boys event finished 2nd to gain valuable points in the VSSSA Series as did Scott McPherson who finished in the 4th spot on the 16-19 Male Junior Boys section.  Well done to these two boys.  One more good race to go and their off to Nationals. Renee Lane also competed yesterday in the South Australian Sprint Distance Championships and finished 2nd in the Female Elite Section.  This was a great result from Renee who has been in very good tough recently.   In Summary Leigh Stabryla               1st Jarrad L King                2nd Renee Lane                   2ndMatt Bailey                    2ndScott McPherson          4thBelinda Harrison            9thNext stop for most of the team is this weekend at Race 2 of the Gatorade Series at Elwood.  Belinda will now have some time off before resuming training for the 70.3 race in Geelong in February.
