"In February 07 I was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus, and after talks with my surgeon and other people it become obvious that my fitness level and weight would be a factor in my recovery (at this stage I was overweight and although walking daily, was not as fit as I could have been) as my surgery was not scheduled until july I decided to try and improve my fitness level.
I started by increasing my walking distance in the morning and riding a mountain bike in the afternoon, after surgery and chemo, by then it was early December I again started riding the mountain bike, in January I was enjoying riding so much I decided to go to the next level and purchased a road bike, here was I riding round the streets with not much of a idea of what I was doing regarding changing gears etc I needed help.
A friend told me about the courses Body Torque offered and I thought why not.
I signed up for both the Skills and Bootcamp, and at times throughout the course I thought why me, but with support from Felicity and Allan i completed both, at the end of the course, my knowledge and fitness level had increased dramatically. What I gained from the course is : how to ride the road bike correctly, how to navigate the gears efficiently, riding in packs, and bike etiquette. The courses improved my concentration and commitment to riding, and improved my confidence in riding and personally.
I now ride most days for up to two hours and have met great people along the way who are always willing to help other riders and share their experiences.
For anybody wishing to improve their fitness level, want to get serious about improving skills on a road bike, or just have fun, I would certainly recommend the Body Torque courses who knows you might actually enjoy them, I did.
Thank you Felicity and Allan for making the programs so relevant."
Best Regards,
John Smith.
